You can’t fully experience Zlín if you don’t check out Bistrotéka Valachy, a place that almost deserves a full-day visit on its own. Another favorite classic of ours is U Johana, where we recommend trying genuine Czech grilled pork knuckles. Right in the town center you’ll find Haluškárna, which specializes entirely in the must-try Slovak specialty of halušky. If you want good beer and traditional Czech food, take a walk to the quarter of Pančava to visit Dalešická Hospoda. Good food is also served at Budvarka, PUOR Zlín, and Kozlovna Celnice. For a traditional Czech pub experience, visit Kovárna.
Some more high-end restaurants that we love include Hotel Tomášov, La Villa, Lesní Hotel, and Penzion UNO.
Good food in Vizovice can be found in Penzion Retro, as well as Valašský Šenk Vizovice, where they make genuine Wallachian specialties in the traditional setting of a handmade log cabin. Definitely worth the trip!
Luhačovice is home to quite a few good restaurants. There’s Restaurant Racek, located right at the colonnade, and a wide selection of hotel restaurants – French-style ALEXANDRIA, the elegant Hotel Radun, the luxurious Augustinian House, the spacious Hotel Pohoda, the panoramic restaurant at Hotel Vega or the one at Hotel Vyhlídka with a view of the reservoir. Vegetarians might enjoy Sluneční Bistro, which is usually also well-stocked with local products.
A 15-minute car ride will take you to the restaurant at the Wichterle Castle in Slavičín.
Our go-to spot in Uherský Brod is definitely Panoptikum. You’ll find it at the end of the bridge leading from the train station. They make their own bread, offer a wide selection of rums, cook perfectly, and always have a smile on their face.
Our pick for Valašské Klobouky is a restaurant named Beseda at the main square. They serve delicious meals in generous portions, great beer from a small brewery, and maybe even a concert from time to time. A place with good vibes all around.
Bistros are our favorite discipline, which is why we are extremely happy to see how many have sprung up in our region. Read all about them!
